Job summary

PCB Piezotronics, Inc. in Latham, NY is seeking a Production Engineering Technician to support design, testing and manufacturing of Accumetrics products. You will fabricate prototypes, develop test protocols, build fixtures and maintain technical docs.

The role requires 8–10 years in engineering or manufacturing, strong measurement tool skills, CAD proficiency and effective communication. On-site work with comprehensive benefits follows.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of technical work experience in engineering, laboratory or manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency with mechanical and electrical assembly, lab tests and precision measurement tools; strong MS Office and CAD skills, data collection and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to engineering and production personnel in design, testing and manufacturing of Accumetrics products.
• Fabricate and assemble mechanical/electrical prototypes for testing and validation.
• Develop and execute test protocols to evaluate products and processes.
• Design and build assembly and test fixtures.
• Create and maintain technical documents, drawings and BOMs.
• Train personnel in manufacturing processes and test procedures.
• Collect and disseminate test and measurement data; publish test reports.
• Provide applications support to Sales and Customer Service for technical inquiries.
• Support production technicians by resolving issues and identifying training opportunities.
• Identify process improvements for efficiency, error proofing, and fixture improvements.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• Identify process improvement for efficiency, error proofing, and fixture improvements.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Technology or related STEM field or equivalent experience in related field.
• Experience: 8-10 years of technical work experience in an engineering, laboratory or manufacturing environment. Very strong technical aptitude. Proficiency with mechanical and electrical assembly, performing laboratory tests and the use of precision measurement tools (i.e. micrometers, calipers, multi-meters, oscilloscopes). Strong computer skills including MS Office, 2D & 3D CAD. Familiarity with data collection and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Technology or related STEM field preferred. Strong background and experience working in electrical engineering or electrical technology preferred.
