Job summary

ADM is seeking a Production Engineer in Valdosta, GA to improve, troubleshoot, and optimize food and feed manufacturing processes. This exempt, salary position focuses on operational excellence and safety while driving efficiency across plant operations.

The role includes leading improvement initiatives, collaborating with shift teams, and mentoring colleagues. Candidates should have a BS in Engineering with 2+ years in manufacturing and supervisory experience.

  • 2+ years of experience in plant manufacturing operations environment.
  • Demonstrated problem solving competencies.
  • 2+ years of supervisory or project leadership experience preferred.
  • Experienced with driving change management and continuous improvement initiatives across all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Identify improvement opportunities and lead improvement initiatives to support safety, cost, yield, quality, and reliability.
  • Ensure inclusion of health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements in equipment and facility development/modifications.
  • Analyze processes for cost savings, reliability, and performance improvements.
  • Assist in training and mentoring colleagues; standardize processes.
  • Manage projects: purchasing, installation, budget tracking, startup, training, and reporting.
  • Lead plant operations to maintain safety of personnel and processes.
  • Observe facilities, equipment, and processes for improvements; recommend changes.
  • Communicate with shift supervisors and employees to achieve operational results and support development.
  • Review KPI paperwork daily and contribute to performance reviews.
  • Participate in Performance Excellence initiatives and DMAIC projects.

This is a salary, exempt position

The Valdosta Facility is seeking a Production Engineer with the skills to improve, troubleshoot, and optimize the food and feed manufacturing processes to support operational excellence.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Identify improvement opportunities and lead focused improvement initiatives ton support of plant goals for safety, cost, yield, quality, and reliability.
  • Ensure identification and inclusion of critical health, safety, environmental, quality requirements in the development and modification of equipment and facilities.
  • Analyze existing processes for cost savings, reliability, and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in development of colleagues through training, technical support mentoring, and standardization of processes.
  • Project management, purchasing of materials and supplies, equipment installation, budget tracking, startup of projects, employee training and reporting.
  • Experience leading plant operations to maintain personnel and process safely.
  • Observe and make recommendations for improvements to facilities, equipment, processes and safety programs
  • Communicate and interact with shift supervisors and employees to produce desired operational results and support employee development.
  • Conduct daily review of KPI paperwork (i.e., Operational & Shift Supervisor, quality reports and Production Review).
  • Participate in Performance Excellence initiatives, Losses to Action, DMAIC projects, and Zero-Failure deployments.
Minimum Job Requirements:
  • B.S. in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 or more years of experience in plant manufacturing operations environment.
  • Demonstrated problem solving competencies.
  • 2 or more years of supervisory experience or project leadership experience (as the project leader supervising team members and/or contractors) preferred.
  • Experienced and comfortable with communicating and driving change management, and continuous improvement initiatives across all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to move around by stooping, bending, kneeling or squatting frequently. May also require periods of prolonged sitting or standing.
  • May be required to perform work at heights (on ladders, scaffolding or other structures) of up to 125 ft.
  • Proactively engage, participate and be a role model to others in regard to safety, environmental, quality activities and company policies and procedures.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$69,700.00 - $120,000.00
