Job summary

OBE is seeking a Production Engineer to serve as the trusted link between customer orders and what gets built. You will translate complex glass, glazing, and architectural metal orders into precise, actionable instructions for manufacturing, procurement, and project management to protect schedules and budgets.

You will develop product and accessory expertise, interpret contracts, and produce technical drawings and verification documents.

Qualifications

Associate degree in a technical field is preferred or equivalent hands-on experience in order processing, drafting or project administration.
Strong math and attention-to-detail are essential for accurate ordering and documentation.
Able to read and interpret technical, product and construction drawings.
Proficiency with Excel, Word, Access and CAD tools.
Experience with fenestration, glass or architectural metals is a plus.

Responsibilities

Build deep product and accessory expertise to guide each order.
Enter orders into the engineering database with precision.
Produce verification documents and technical drawings for manufacturing and purchasing.
Partner with Project Management on order questions and reviews, keeping stakeholders informed.
Source competitive quotes for panels, breakform and security screens.
Compare quoted vs. ordered jobs, flag variances and drive change orders with Sales and PM.
Maintain accurate records supporting Finance and Accounting.
Collaborate across Process Engineering as needed.
