Coterra is hiring a Production Engineer in our Midland Office.

JOB SUMMARY

As aProduction Engineer for Coterra, you will work as a key member of the asset development team and are responsible for monitoring and evaluating well systems to maximize the production and operations of oil and gas products. You will be responsible for managing daily engineering and production activities, while also ensuring the quality and safety of the project and controlling associated costs. This position is located in our Midland Texas office and reports to the Production Engineer Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform analysis on wells to ensure efficient and optimal production performance

Provide engineering support to install artificial lift methods and production optimization

Identify workover needs and implement designs and oversees execution of workover plans

Participates in LOE and Production Reviews and budget preparation

Coordinate with other personnel, such as geoscientists, engineers, superintendents, foreman regarding production concerns

Conduct in-depth economic analyses to support business decisions and control costs

Coordinate with reservoir, geological, and midstream teams to design full scale asset development plans

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Working knowledge of production optimization concepts and applications

Practical knowledge of unconventional/conventional resource plays

Strong analytical, problem solving, and presentation skills required

Ability to make technical and economically sound recommendations required

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary

Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work independently

Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task with attention to accuracy

Team player that possesses the ability to adapt to a changing and fast paced work environment

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Aries)

Knowledge of Spotfire, Power BI, or any Business Intelligence Tools preferred

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineer or related field required

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Production Engineer for a E&P.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

10% - 15% Travel will be required for mandatory meetings, training and visits to field locations.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMAND

Work is typically performed indoors in an office environment. Incumbents must be able to perform work which includes typing, sitting and standing. In the event that incumbent visits operations worksite, personal protection equipment, including head protection, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety shoes, and flame-resistant clothing is required. Safety rules including OSHA and DOT requirements are strictly enforced. Employees must be willing to travel and work extended hours on short notice.
