Description Summary

Under the guidance of the department leadership, this role is responsible for executing production engineering strategies and tactical plans at the Astemo Berea Plant. The position collaborates with the leadership team to establish priorities and objectives and ensures their effective implementation. This role supports production engineering, while acting as a strategic partner to other departments across the organization. This role exercises independent judgment regularly while operating within established guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Support senior engineers in designing, planning, and coordinating production-related projects.
  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes with a focus on quality, efficiency, cost, and equipment performance.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving production issues related to equipment, technology, and workflow.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Quality, Maintenance, and Production to ensure smooth implementation of process changes or improvements.
  • Research and communicate with suppliers to determine equipment and material specifications; assist in purchasing decisions.
  • Evaluate new or existing products and equipment to ensure they meet technical and quality standards.
  • Use technical knowledge to troubleshoot problems and recommend effective solutions.
  • Read, interpret, and create technical drawings and schematics as needed.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with team members and other departments.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Possess ability to perform duties utilizing current company software applications (including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, and current ERP system). Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills required. This position performs job duties in an ethical and professional manner.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

Working Conditions & Requirements
  • Required to work 40hrs per week, as well as any required overtime.
  • Required to stand for long periods of time.
  • Required to lift/move up to 50lbs.
  • Up to 10% domestic and international may be required as needed.
  • Required to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to office and laboratory areas.
