Job summary

Phoenix Tailings in Exeter, NH seeks a Production Engineer II to join our hands-on operations team. You will run, improve, and scale next-generation metal processing equipment embedded in our first-of-a-kind facility, working with operators, engineers, and leadership to ensure safe, efficient production of rare earth and critical metals.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2-4 years in manufacturing, production, or process engineering (hands-on preferred).
• Strong mechanical aptitude; comfortable with industrial equipment.
• Ability to analyze data and translate into process improvements.
• Self-driven, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced production setting.
• Excellent communication; collaborates on the production floor.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and wear a respirator when needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and support daily production of clean rare earth and critical metals.
• Conduct process checks and equipment adjustments to meet targets.
• Troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
• Collect and analyze production data to identify trends for improvements.
• Assist in implementing new processes and scaling pilot operations to throughput.
• Lead or contribute to safety, throughput, and efficiency initiatives.
• Develop standard operating procedures and training documentation.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance on the shop floor.
