Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Production Engineer-Electrical to optimize electrical manufacturing processes, drive continuous improvement, and ensure high-quality output across production facilities. You will solve complex problems, develop instructions, and collaborate with R&D, design, and QA teams to enable smooth transfer to production.

The role requires a degree in electrical engineering and 3–5 years in high-volume electrical manufacturing, with experience in CAD tools and a strong lean

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in electrical manufacturing/production engineering
  • Experience with reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools
  • Experience with soldering, wire harnessing, PCB assembly, and electrical testing
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical) and MS Office
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently
  • Knowledge of industry safety standards is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize electrical manufacturing processes, procedures, and layouts
  • Troubleshoot electrical production issues with root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Select, specify, and qualify electrical components and tooling for production lines
  • Develop electrical assembly instructions, test procedures, and QC documentation
  • Collaborate with R&D, Design Engineering, and QA to ensure manufacturability
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and waste reduction (Lean)
  • Conduct time studies and capability analyses to improve efficiency
  • Train production personnel on new processes and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, ISO standards, and company policies
  • Support equipment maintenance planning and calibration schedules
  • Adhere to internal and external regulations and Hitachi Energy values

  • Design, develop, and implement efficient electrical manufacturing processes, procedures, and layouts for new and existing products.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical production issues, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Select, specify, and qualify electrical components, equipment, and tooling for production lines.
  • Develop and maintain detailed electrical assembly instructions, test procedures, and quality control documentation.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Design Engineering, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure manufacturability of new products and seamless transfer to production.

Your background
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in electrical manufacturing or production engineering, preferably within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical circuits, components, and systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
