Kelly Science is seeking a Production Engineer for a growing company located in Kalamazoo, MI.

Salary: $90,000-98,000/year

Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Employment Type: Full Time; Direct Hire

Job Duties Include

  • Providing day-to-day support for production lines and day-to-day troubleshooting for the department.
  • Evaluating daily performance and identifies and eliminates special cause variations.
  • Monitoring operators and ensuring they are following procedures.
  • Issuing nonconforming material (NCN) reports for all production orders.
  • Leads investigation and defines corrective actions for closed NCNs.
  • Supporting process optimization and improvements initiatives including reducing downtime and improving equipment reliability.
  • Developing systems for measuring and reporting performance vs. productivity and quality goals.
  • Providing technical support in capital improvement projects and development of capital budgets.
  • Performs hazard analysis along to develop procedures for non-routine tasks.
  • Transfers engineering instructions for trials and non-standard products into an executable plan.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience within Petro-chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Previous experience in plant work, process optimization, RCCA, and continuous improvement in manufacturing.
