Clariant is seeking a Production Engineer, Catalyst to support our PPCAT facility in Louisville, KY. You will manage production line performance, provide technical support to improve process reliability, product quality, cost efficiency, and safety.

You will collaborate with plant teams to standardize processes and drive continuous improvement. The role requires 2+ years in production or process improvement in chemical manufacturing, plus Lean Six Sigma and strong communication.

• Lean Six Sigma knowledge and advanced computer skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Support daily production line performance and troubleshoot issues
• Ensure compliance with regulations and Clariant policies; participate in risk assessments
• Lead or participate in Change Management (MOC) processes and trials
• Improve FPQ and investigate/resolve customer quality concerns
• Develop and maintain process docs and operator training
• Drive improvements in production performance, cost, quality, safety, and environmental protection
• Apply Clariant Excellence and Lean Six Sigma tools to track KPIs
• Promote plant management systems and ISO standards compliance

Clariant is seeking a Production Engineer, Catalyst to support our PPCAT facility in Louisville, KY. In this role, you will manage production line performance and provide technical expertise to improve process reliability, product quality, cost efficiency, and environmental, safety, and health performance. Reporting to the Process Engineer Manager, you will collaborate with plant teams to solve operational challenges, standardize processes, and drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities

• Support daily performance of assigned production lines, troubleshooting process and equipment issues with operations teams to maintain safe, reliable production.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and Clariant policies; lead or participate in risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
• Initiate and evaluate process and product modifications through the Management of Change (MOC) process, supporting trials and investment projects.
• Improve First Pass Quality (FPQ), address process abnormalities, and support investigations and corrective actions related to customer quality concerns.
• Develop and maintain process documentation and operating procedures; support operator training on procedures and process changes.
• Lead collaborative improvement efforts to strengthen production performance, cost efficiency, quality, safety, industrial hygiene, and environmental protection.
• Apply Clariant Excellence and Lean Six Sigma tools to track performance indicators and implement measurable process improvements.
• Champion plant management systems, including applicable ISO standards, and reinforce consistent use of established operating procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
• More than two years of production and/or process improvement experience, including hands‑on implementation of improvements in chemical manufacturing; catalyst experience is not required.
• Demonstrated understanding of chemical processing equipment, including pumps, filters, distillation columns, and dryers; controls systems experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to navigate differing perspectives and build productive relationships; knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and advanced computer skills.
• Authorization to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship now or in the future; sponsorship is not available for this position.
