Job summary

StandardAero, Inc. in San Antonio, TX seeks a Production Engineer to apply engineering knowledge to the manufacturing of aerospace products.

You will support day-to-day production, analyze processes, and contribute to repair development and trials, ensuring cost-effective, reliable manufacturing. You will collaborate with suppliers and the DAO on airworthiness decisions, stay current with cutting-edge technologies, and uphold safety standards across all activities to deliver quality results for

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, metallurgical, or aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
  • Authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day production support to assigned processes.
  • Create matrix routings to manage the flow of materiel throughout the process.
  • Analyze, develop and recommend methods to meet production requirements, improve economy and quality, and reduce turn-around-times with supporting cost analysis.
  • Establish, analyzes, and acts upon measures of performance related to processes.
  • Investigate and initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies relating to equipment and processes to reduce variation and improve reliability.
  • Determine the actions necessary to develop new repairs from engineering data.
  • Contribute to planning and conduct of repair trials to generate data for new repairs or to support existing repairs. Analyzes and documents results.
  • Propose, research, and perform cost benefit analysis for new equipment purchases.
  • Coordinate with outside resources including contractors, equipment vendors, and supply vendors for process support, improvement, or repair development.
  • Provide support, technical expertise and DAO experience for airworthiness decisions.
  • Remain current with state-of-the-art technologies and processes.
  • Observe safety requirements and report unsafe practices/conditions.

As a Production Engineer, you'll be responsible for the technical knowledge of new and existing products in engineering associated with the manufacturing process.

What you'll do:
  • Provides day-to-day production support to assigned processes.

  • Provides support, technical expertise and experience to the Design Approval Organization (DAO) necessary to make airworthiness engineering decisions.
  • Remains current with state-of the-art technologies and processes.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, metallurgical, or aerospace engineering; or equivalent.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
Desired Skills
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of aerospace materials and processes.
  • In jurisdictions governed by a regulatory body or with an association that is governed by local legal requirements, registration is required.
  • Experience in an aerospace or manufacturing process engineering environment.
