Job summary

Webull is seeking a Production Engineer to ensure the reliability of our 24/7 trading infrastructure and serve as a bridge between global operations and engineering. You will champion operational excellence by resolving complex production issues, automating workflows, and leveraging AI agents to scale our brokerage platform.

Ideal candidates have 1+ years in IT production support or SRE, experience with MySQL/NoSQL, Kafka, Redis, and expertise in Linux, Kubernetes, and Docker.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in IT production support, SRE, or systems engineering within high-availability environments.
• Hands-on experience managing MySQL/NoSQL databases and middleware technologies such as Kafka and Redis.
• Strong understanding of Linux internals and container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes (K8s) and Docker.
• Willingness to work irregular hours to support a global market that never sleeps.

About The Role & Team

As a Production Engineer at Webull, you will be at the heart of our mission to provide a seamless, top-tier trading experience for millions of global investors. You will serve as the critical technical bridge between our global operations and engineering teams, ensuring the high availability and resilience of our 24/7 trading infrastructure. This is more than a support role; you will champion operational excellence by resolving complex production issues, automating manual workflows, and leveraging cutting-edge technologies (including AI agents) to scale our next-generation brokerage platform.

In This Role, You Will

• Ensure System Resilience: Proactively monitor Webull's global Order Management Systems (OMS) and mission-critical applications 24/7 to maintain 99.99% system stability.
• Strategic Problem Solving: Act as the primary technical liaison between Back-Office Operations and Development teams; manage L1/L2 production incidents and spearhead root-cause analysis (RCA) for L3 escalations.
• Incident Management & Orchestration: Partner with the Client Services team to track, prioritize, and resolve client-facing incidents through the ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution and high satisfaction.
• Operational Excellence: Streamline daily technical operations and provide expert support for complex database systems and middleware.
• Drive Innovation through Automation: Design and build robust scripts, automation frameworks, or AI agents to eliminate repetitive tasks and enhance production efficiency.
• Global Trading Support: Collaborate across time zones to support global trading sessions, adapting to irregular shifts (including early mornings, late nights, or weekends) as needed.

The Skills You Bring

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 1+ years of experience in IT production support, SRE, or systems engineering within high-availability environments.
• Hands-on experience managing MySQL/NoSQL databases and middleware technologies such as Kafka and Redis.
• Strong understanding of Linux internals and container orchestration technologies like Kubernetes (K8s) and Docker.
• A self-starter mindset with the ability to maintain peak performance and clear-headed decision-making under high-pressure, mission-critical scenarios.
• Willingness to work irregular hours to support a global market that never sleeps.

What Makes You Stand Out

• Previous experience in the broker-dealer, electronic trading, or fintech industry.
• Fluency in Mandarin and English to effectively collaborate with our global engineering hubs.
• Familiarity with AI agents, LLM integration, or advanced automation for operational scaling.
• Broad knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure and best practices.
• Exceptional ability to translate complex technical issues into clear insights for diverse stakeholders.

This role is based in our St Pete Global HQ (200 Carillon Pkwy, FL), where in-person collaboration fuels growth, mentorship, and innovation. At Webull, we're committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. The base salary range is $75,000-90,000 annually, plus a discretionary bonus and full benefits. Final offers consider experience, location, and relevant qualifications.
