Job summary
Toyota North America is seeking a Production Engineer in Georgetown, KY to support the Assembly department’s technical operations. You will report to the Assembly Engineering Manager and drive improvements across daily production, new model introductions, and special projects.
Required are a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, experience in Final Assembly Shop Manufacturing, and proficiency with CAD tools (Autodesk Inventor / SolidWorks).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field is required.
- Experience in Final Assembly Shop Manufacturing is expected.
- Familiarity with torque tightening control tools is advantageous.
- Experience leading problem-solving activities related to Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost.
- Project management or project-lead experience with strategic execution.
- Experience writing shop-level procedures (AEI, Delta Manual, RTI).
- CAD proficiency with Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks and ability to read/modify 2D/3D drawings.
- Experience implementing major/minor equipment including design, risk assessment, install, and commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Problem solving activities related to Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost issues for daily production, new model introduction, and special projects.
- Develop specifications and procurement of equipment and tools and jigs to ensure quality and safety for new and existing processes.
- Collaborate across departments to develop and sustain effective countermeasures for completed vehicle problems.
- Set-up and kaizen of vehicle processing, including critical process controls, regulations, part selection, and safety.
- Networking with Production and Maintenance daily, to identify, investigate, and collaboratively implement changes to improve processes and products.

Toyota’s Assembly Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Production Engineer.
The primary responsibility of this role is to report to the Assembly Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Assembly department's objective to manage the technical operations.
- Problem solving activities related to Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost issues for daily production, new model introduction, and special projects.
- Develop specifications and procurement of equipment and tools and jigs to ensure quality and safety or new and existing processes.
- Collaborate across departments to develop and sustain effective countermeasures for completed vehicle problems.
- Set-up and kaizen of vehicle processing, including critical process controls, regulations, part selection, and safety
- Networking with Production and Maintenance daily, to identify, investigate, and collaboratively implement changes to improve processes and products
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering or similar technical discipline
- Experience in Final Assembly Shop Manufacturing
- Experience working with torque tightening control tools
- Experience leading and coordinating problem solving activities related to Safety, Quality, Productivity, and/or Cost
- Project Management or project lead experience with demonstrated capability to develop and execute strategies to achieve project targets
- Experience writing procedures for shop level standards, such as AEI, Delta Manual, RTI.
- Experience with CAD software such Autodesk Inventor, Solid Works including the ability to read, interpret and modify both 2D and 3D drawings
- Experience with implementation of major and/or minor equipment including design or modification,technical specifications, risk assessment, install and commissioning
- Experience with Assembly control systems, such as IC…
- Experience in a Pilot PE role (Assembly or other shop)
- Experience with automotive plant systems for regional compliance, such as QAN/QMS, Environmental, QR/QS, Assets, CoHE, GIR/TIR
