Job summary

Toyota Deutschland GmbH in Georgetown, KY, seeks a Production Engineer for the Assembly Department to support technical operations and report to the Assembly Engineering Manager. You will work across teams to drive safety, quality, and efficiency in daily production and new model introductions.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, hands-on experience in Final Assembly Shop Manufacturing, and familiarity with torque tightening tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar technical discipline.
• Experience in Final Assembly Shop Manufacturing.
• Experience working with torque tightening control tools.
• Experience leading and coordinating problem solving activities related to Safety, Quality, Productivity, and/or Cost.
• Experience with CAD software and reading 2D/3D drawings (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks).

Responsibilities

• Solve safety, quality, productivity, and cost issues in daily production and new model introduction.
• Develop specifications and procure equipment, tools, and jigs to ensure quality and safety.
• Collaborate across departments to implement countermeasures for vehicle issues.
• Set up and kaizen vehicle processing with critical process controls and safety.
• Network with Production and Maintenance to identify and implement process improvements.

Who we’re looking for

Toyota’sAssembly Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Production Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to report to the Assembly Engineering Manager, the person in this role will support the Assembly department's objective to manage the technical operations.

What you’ll be doing

• Problem solving activities related to Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost issues for daily production, new model introduction, and special projects.
• Develop specifications and procurement of equipment and tools and jigs to ensure quality and safety or new and existing processes.
• Collaborate across departments to develop and sustain effective countermeasures for completed vehicle problems.
• Set-up and kaizen of vehicle processing, including critical process controls, regulations, part selection, and safety
• Networking with Production and Maintenance daily, to identify, investigate, and collaboratively implement changes to improve processes and products

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering or similar technical discipline
• Experience in Final Assembly Shop Manufacturing
• Experience working with torque tightening control tools
• Experience leading and coordinating problem solving activities related to Safety, Quality, Productivity, and/or Cost
• Project Management or project lead experience with demonstrated capability to developand execute strategies to achieve project targets
• Experience writing procedures for shop level standards, such as AEI, Delta Manual, RTI.
• Experience with CAD software such Autodesk Inventor, Solid Works including the ability to read, interpret and modify both 2D and 3D drawings
• Experiencewithimplementation of major and/or minor equipment includingdesign or modification,technical specifications, risk assessment, install and commissioning

Added bonus if you have

• Experience with Assembly control systems, such asICS+, AVI, TOHO, AIS, TVECS, Qualias, TEIS, ALC, ArcX
• Experience in a Pilot PE role (Assembly or other shop)
• Experience with automotive plant systems for regional compliance, such as QAN/QMS, Environmental, QR/QS, Assets,CoHE, GIR/TIR
• In-depth knowledge of vehicle structure and vehicle systems
