Job summary

Spartan Emergency Response is seeking a Production Electrical team member to install and wire harnesses for emergency response cabs and bodies. You will read electrical schematics, assemble harnesses, and maintain documentation on vehicle options in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment.

Collaborate with engineering to ensure proper installation, learn Spartan systems, and contribute to continuous improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand basic electrical schematics.
  • Assemble and reconfigure wiring harnesses for proper electrical function.
  • Maintain documentation concerning vehicle options.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineering to ensure proper harness installation.
  • Learn and retain skills to complete assembly in assigned area.
  • Follow detailed installation drawings and blueprints.
  • Perform rework as needed.
  • Understand production flow of the assigned product line.
  • Self-check work and inspect prior processes.
  • Use hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools.
  • Meet production goals and maintain a clean, safe area.
  • Initiate process improvements and 5S.
  • Communicate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
  • Work closely with customers as needed.
  • Solve complex problems with minimal assistance.

The Production Electrical position is responsible for the installation and wiring of harnesses to ensure the electrical function of Spartan’s emergency response cabs and bodies.

Job Responsibilities
  • Read and understand basic electrical schematics
  • Assemble and reconfigure wiring harnesses to ensure proper performance of electrical functions
  • Maintain appropriate documentation concerning vehicle options
  • Interact with electrical engineering to ensure wire harnesses are correctly assembled and installed
  • Learn and retain skills and practices needed to complete assembly in assigned area
  • Read and follow detailed operator instructions, installation drawings, blueprints, etcetera, as required by a particular area
  • Perform rework, as needed
  • Understand, and be able to articulate, the production flow of an assigned product line or area
  • Self-check work and inspect prior processes
  • Use basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools, as required
  • Meet production goals
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Initiate process improvements
  • Support 5S in work area
  • Communicate with manufacturing and other cross-functional teams (engineering, materials, purchasing, sales, etcetera) to resolve issues
  • Work in close proximity with customer, as needed
  • Solve complex problems with minimal assistance

    • Improve self / area / company (including pursuing additional training, if needed)
    • Develop a working knowledge of Spartan’s systems (example: AS/400)
  • Able to work overtime on short notice
