Penguin Random House Corporate Bookmaking is seeking a Production Editor to support the Penguin Random House Christian division, working with the WaterBrook, Multnomah, Align Insight, Forum Books, and Image imprints. Notable PRH Christian authors include Michael Todd, John Mark Comer, Melanie Shankle, Robert F. Prevost (now Pope Leo XIV), Faith Eury Cho, Annie F. Downs, Joshua Becker, and many more. Reporting to the Executive Managing Editor/Copy Chief, the Production Editor will work on a variety of products, including hardcover and trade paperback titles.
The Production Editor will work closely with the editorial, design, managing editorial, and production groups, and will be responsible for handling a variety of titles, including some hardcover-to-paperback conversions but mostly original titles (including some 4-color), from manuscript to bound book. The deadline-oriented team player will supervise the work of freelance copy editors, cold readers, proofreaders, sluggers, and indexers while providing their production editorial expertise during all phases of production, from copyedit to complete printed books and e-pub files. Ability to pivot quickly and accelerate schedules when needed is essential.
We are looking for a detailed, meticulous self-starter who has strong analytical skills, communicates clearly, and will be an active participant in a collaborative team. The ideal candidate will manage a diverse set of responsibilities efficiently and effectively and is comfortable asking for help when needed.
This position is open to remote.
Salary for this position is $70,500.
