Job summary

Simbe is seeking a Data Analytics & Data Science Intern to join our Data Science & Analytics team in Burlingame, CA. You will turn large-scale retail and robot data into reliable insights, building analytical products and internal tools.

You’ll work on real production data, learn SQL, Python, BigQuery, dbt, and BI workflows, and contribute to meaningful, scoped projects with a dedicated mentor throughout the internship.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in a technical field.
• Final-year students or strong juniors considered.
• Strong SQL skills with structured datasets.
• Experience using Python for data analysis.
• Coursework or hands-on experience in data engineering or data science.
• Familiarity with Git or another source-control system.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and contribute to a scoped project aligned with the Data Science & Analytics team's priorities during the internship.
• Write and maintain SQL and Python used for data analysis, transformation, validation, or automation.
• Work with data in BigQuery and help transform raw information into trustworthy analytical datasets.
• Contribute to dbt models, tests, documentation, and other analytics engineering workflows.
• Support dimensional modeling and development of organized data marts for analytical and reporting use cases.
• Build or improve dashboards and reporting in Looker or similar BI tools.
• Investigate data-quality issues, validate results, and ensure metrics are accurate and reliable.
• Analyze fleet, service, store, or retail data and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Engineering, Product, Operations, and other teams to understand data requirements.
