Job summary

Mountville Rubber Company is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead the production crew on the shop floor. You will model safe behavior, coach team members, and enforce policies while ensuring PPE and safety procedures are followed.

You will escalate safety, quality, or conduct concerns to the Production Supervisor and promote a respectful team culture. You will focus on meeting shift production and quality targets, flag risks early, and facilitate smooth handoffs.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience required.
  • 1+ years leading or coordinating a team preferred.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft applications.
  • Willingness to learn and apply LEAN methodologies and root-cause problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Model safe behavior and correct unsafe conditions or actions immediately; ensure PPE and safety-procedure compliance across the crew.
  • Act with honesty and consistency when coaching team members and enforcing policy on the floor.
  • Escalate concerns about safety, quality, or conduct to the Production Supervisor promptly and transparently.
  • Treat every team member fairly and help new hires assimilate into a strong, respectful team culture.
  • Keep the crew focused on hitting shift production and quality targets that support internal and external customer needs.
  • Flag quality or schedule risks to the Production Supervisor early enough to protect customer commitments.
  • Support smooth shift-to-shift handoffs so the next crew and downstream customers experience no disruption.
  • Treat coworkers in other departments and shifts as customers of the crew's work.
  • Support the Production Supervisor in applying LEAN methodologies and carrying out countermeasures on the floor.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities to improve safety, productivity, quality, or cost on the line.
  • Use basic Microsoft applications to record production data and communicate shift information.
  • Encourage crew members to speak up with improvement ideas and help pilot changes on the floor.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Production Supervisor.


Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Working Conditions

In addition to occasional office work, this position requires working in a manufacturing environment where personal protective equipment is necessary.
