Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Bastrop, TX, is seeking a Production Coordinator for Tool and Die to support insource manufacturing leadership and ensure on-time delivery of Tool components and assemblies.

You will manage demand planning for Make components, monitor BOMs in MRP systems, issue purchase orders, maintain master data, and work closely with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues and drive timely delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or administrative environment.
  • Experience navigating a multitier bill of materials and work orders.
  • Experience working in a production environment.
  • Experience using forklifts.
  • Experience using overhead cranes.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and purchasing/planning functions.
  • Strong computer skills, familiar with the full suite of MS Office products.
  • 2+ years of professional manufacturing scheduling or coordinating experience.
  • 2+ years of practical experience using ERP/MRP systems in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve efficiency and operational effectiveness by thinking strategically and critically and building broad, cross-functional relationships.
  • Highly skilled at taking in large quantities of information and presenting it in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision to develop and manage program plans and schedules.
  • Experience creating and managing dashboards using data visualization tools.
  • Experience sharing information and influencing others across organizational lines, internally and externally.
  • Experience working in a highly demanding and fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute the demand planning process for “Make” components, with primary focus on Tool & Die and CNC Machine Shop part flow, while ensuring timely fulfillment of customer requirements for Tool Assembly
  • Monitor and track the bill of materials in MRP systems for the product scope to ensure on time assemblies
  • Execute purchasing transactions within scope by issuing purchase orders for the company tool and die programs and ensure on-time delivery
  • Maintain product master data and develop expertise in all material planning systems and reports
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with vendors and distributors to ensure communication channels are active with real time delivery information and work in progress
  • Proactively update the company management and engineering teams on all critical supply issues
  • Analyze available manufacturing data and develop metrics required to drive optimal results
  • Work with manufacturing supervisors and managers to ensure all metrics driven action requirements are completed
  • Assist in the development of and maintain reports to highlight needs, deliverables, and constraints as required for internal and customer use
  • Communicate component, tool status and estimated completion dates to leadership weekly
  • Proactively work with internal and external teams to manage inventory, prevent stock outs
  • Work with the scheduling team to coordinate preventative maintenance and new build activities
  • Assist with the resolution of incorrect system data, which is driving inappropriate demand, schedules, or could result in general failure
  • Coordinate off-site processing of parts with engineering and manufacturing to ensure on-time delivery as required
  • Work with the procurement, engineering, and production teams to ensure our MRP/ERP data is and remains clean and accurate
  • Support assigned manufacturing areas with work order management activities as required

PRODUCTION COORDINATOR, TOOL AND DIE

The Tool and Die Production Coordinator plays a vital role within the company’s manufacturing and production teams. Production Coordinators work in support of all insource manufacturing leadership staff to ensure the on-time delivery of components and assemblies through the insource manufacturing process.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to travel - up to 50% of a work week may be required
  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to meet major milestones
  • This position is based in Bastrop, TX and requires being onsite - remote work not considered
