Job summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Technician to convert engineering data into shop fabrication data and communicate manufacturing needs to the production line. You will release jobs, prepare cut lists and drawings, and ensure shop data is organized for efficient production.

Responsibilities include creating job folders, batching jobs, updating schedules, and generating necessary fabrication files.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 18 months of truss fabrication experience preferred.
• Communicate effectively with shop employees and Production Management.
• Thorough understanding of the Truss Manufacturing Process.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn On-Line Software.

Responsibilities

• Release a job into the shop, create cut lists and fabrication drawings.
• Create job folders and generate shop drawings.
• Group shop drawings by work center and batch jobs.
• Create automatic saw files and projection fabrication files.
• Release jobs to the production team and update scheduling status.
• Edit work orders in On-Line Software for labor totals.
• Retrieve built information from the shop after fabrication and close production files.
• Perform other routine production department tasks.
