Job summary

Responsibilities include creating work orders, verifying materials, entering data into the QAD system, tracking labor and material transactions, and maintaining production records while adapting to changing

Responsibilities

• Create work orders and enter sales orders into the QAD manufacturing system.
• Verify raw material availability and allocate materials to job orders.
• Enter shop labor transactions and record material transfers involving work in process and finished goods.
• Review customer purchase orders and coordinate order due dates with the scheduling team.
• Create new part numbers and production routing records as needed.
• Prepare purchase requisitions and track material purchases to support production deadlines.
• Reconcile work order reports and help investigate inventory discrepancies.
• Work with the team to identify causes of inventory variances and prevent recurring issues.
• Maintain accurate production records and supporting documentation.
• Follow company safety procedures and participate in continuous improvement activities.

Connect Staffing Solutions is hiring a Production Coordinator for our client, a manufacturing company in East Houston. Their operation relies on accurate production schedules, material availability, and clear communication between office and production teams to fulfill customer orders on time.

This position supports the Production Planning department and is ideal for someone with strong office and computer skills, foundational knowledge of production planning or coordination, and the ability to keep records accurate while managing competing priorities.

Required Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of production planning, production control, or coordination.

• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

• Ability to learn and navigate manufacturing software accurately.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.

• Dependable attendance and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience using QAD or another ERP/manufacturing system.

• Experience processing work orders, sales orders, material transactions, or inventory records.

Work Environment

Work includes office duties and visits to the production floor as needed. Physical activities may include sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Compensation and Opportunity

The approved pay range is $18.00-$20.00 per hour. Candidates with relevant qualifications seeking slightly above this range may also be considered.
