Job summary

Seminole Hard Rock Tampa is seeking a Cook I to uphold the standards established by the executive chef. You will assist in food preparation, ensure proper portioning, taste testing, and maintain sanitation and food safety across the kitchen.

You will work across multiple kitchen stations in a fast-paced casino environment, communicate clearly with team members, and contribute to a positive guest experience while supporting a comprehensive benefits program.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a high volume kitchen assisting in the preparation of food.
• Must possess knowledge of sanitation and quality food preparation techniques.
• Must be flexible and able to work all kitchen areas.
• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able interact effectively with other staff to produce a positive guest experience.

Job Description

The Cook I is responsible for maintaining the standards established by the executive chef. This includes preparation and presentation of food, tasting, and sanitation.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

• Cutting or peeling fruits and vegetables
• Boiling water for rice or pasta
• Making sure food on the menu is available and prepared
• Seasoning food

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a high volume kitchen assisting in the preparation of food.

Work Environment:

Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in the back of house of the casino, which can be faced-paced with excessive noise. Also, there may be times where you will need to be on the Casino Floor or pass through this area. On the Casino Floor, you may be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
