Job summary

American Dining Creations is hiring a Production Cook in Kansas City, MO to prepare meals in large quantities for local schools. You will measure ingredients, operate industrial equipment, and ensure safety and quality standards.

You will maintain inventory, log data, and keep a clean workstation, with opportunities for growth and a stable schedule in a large, nationwide service organization.

Qualifications

• Food safety procedures and safe knife handling knowledge.
• Ability to read recipes and production orders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long shifts.

Summary

A Production Cook at American Dining Creations will cook meals in large quantities according to menu, recipes, and number of portions to be served, including batch cooking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high quality meals in large quantities to be distributed throughout the local school system.
• Measuring, weighing, and preparing ingredients according to recipes and production orders.
• Operating industrial equipment such as tilt skillets and ovens to make food.
• Organize stock by rotating, labeling and properly storing inventory, noting when stock is low.
• Follow safety, quality, and nutrition guidelines to ensure standards are met.
• Maintain an organized workspace by cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work surfaces before and after each batch.
• Record data such as food waste and temperature logs.
• Cleaning up at the end of each shift to prepare for the next day’s production including dishes and taking out trash.
• May be assigned other duties and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• Food Service Certificate or Food Handlers Permit
• Knowledge of kitchen safety procedures and safe use of knives/knife skills.
• Time management skills, team and task focused in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to understand written and verbal communications effectively.
• Ability to understand and meet set standards for health and safety by remaining alert and focused.
• Must be detail-oriented, dependable, and thorough.
• Will be required to work in an environment with frequent periods of moderate to loud noise.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs, push and pull, bend, climb stairs, stand, and walk for entire scheduled shift.
