Job summary

U.S. Fleet Forces Command in the United States seeks a Production Controller (Ships) in the TYPE DESK Division of CNSL PORT ENGINEERS.

You will track maintenance planning, reporting availability and execution, and coordinate with program offices to align modernization efforts with priorities. The role requires analyzing maintenance requirements against budgets and schedules, supporting program reviews, and ensuring timely execution of hull, mechanical and electrical work and related funding

Qualifications

• Experience analyzing work requests and plans to determine scope of work for maintenance and repair projects.
• Experience estimating resources: labor hours, materials, equipment.
• Experience preparing detailed job orders and assigning work to shops or trades.
• Experience developing and maintaining a bill of materials.
• Experience tracking material orders and expediting delivery.

• Track maintenance availability, planning, and execution per JFMM and CNSL guidance.

• Support Surface Team One program reviews and MMPR lessons learned.
• Coordinate HM& E maintenance planning with TYCOM work packages and program offices.
• Oversee funding for maintenance and modernization for assigned ships.
• Collaborate with PEs, AWPMs, PMs to identify financial trends and risks.

Summary

You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPS) in the TYPE DESK Division of CNSL PORT ENGINEERS.

Duties

• You will track and report on maintenance availability, planning, and execution in accordance with the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) and CNSL directives and guidance.
• You will review and provide recommendations for maintenance planning; executing new and growth repairs and accomplishing modernization-related requirements.
• You will review and analyze continuous maintenance requirements in comparison to the available budget, availability and operational schedules and determining the priority for accomplishing those maintenance requirements.
• You will Active support the preparation for and execution of Surface Team One program reviews including both planning and execution lessons learned review (MMPR).
• You will track, support and provide oversight for the incumbent’s assigned ship's Hull, Mechanical; Electrical (HMandE) maintenance planning and execution, of CNO availabilities, CMAVs and Windows of Opportunity.
• You will coordinate with the Program Offices alteration and modernization availability, planning, scheduling, integration of their program, and the TYCOM work packages.
• You will be responsible for continuing program review, analysis and appraisal of assigned ships maintenance and modernization related funding,
• You will coordinate with other TDA-s, TDMs, PEs, Modernization Manager, Availability Work Package Manager (AWPMs) and Program Managers (PMs) to recognize and identify financial trends, risks and concerns.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-12, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience analyzing work requests, engineering plans, and other specifications to determine the scope of work for construction, maintenance, and repair projects.
• Experience estimating the resources required for a project including labor hours, materials, and equipment.
• Experience preparing detailed job orders and specifications and assigning work to the appropriate shops or trade groups.
• Experience developing and maintaining a bill of materials for projects, ensuring all necessary parts and supplies are identified.
• Experience tracking the status of material orders and expedited delivery when necessary.
• Experience managing inventory of materials and components, ensuring that adequate stock levels are maintained.
• Experience investigating and resolving any issues related to material shortages or discrepancies.
