Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Riverside, CA is seeking a Production Controller to ensure efficient material flow, production scheduling, and on-time delivery. You will coordinate production activities, maintain schedules, manage work orders, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Relocation assistance is provided. The role requires coordinating with Operations, Planning, Procurement, Quality, and Engineering to meet customer commitments while adhering to Collins Aerospace standards.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires: a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior production control, scheduling, or materials management experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, release, and manage production work orders in alignment with master production schedules and capacity plans.
  • Monitor work order status, proactively resolve constraints, and ensure accurate and timely closure of work orders.
  • Coordinate material availability with Purchasing, Planning, and Inventory Control to prevent shortages and support uninterrupted production flow.
  • Track and communicate daily production priorities, shortages, and recovery plans to cross-functional teams.
  • Analyze production performance and identify risks to schedule; recommend and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate ERP data including work order dates, routings, BOM changes, and material allocations.
  • Support inventory accuracy activities, including cycle counts, reconciliation, and root cause analysis of discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Engineering to implement changes, tooling updates, and process improvements.
  • Assist with capacity planning, load analysis, and standard work documentation as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all Collins Aerospace standards, site procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to lean initiatives aimed at improving material flow, reducing lead time, and optimizing shop floor efficiency.

Production Controller

The Production Controller plays a key role in ensuring efficient material flow, production scheduling, and on-time delivery performance within the Riverside manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for coordinating production activities, maintaining production schedules, managing work orders, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Production Controller works closely with Operations, Planning, Procurement, Quality, and Engineering to ensure that customer commitments are met while adhering to Collins Aerospace policies and procedures.

What You Will Do

  • Prior experience in Collins Aerospace, UTC/RTX systems, or similar aerospace production environments.
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with shop floor control, capacity planning, and configuration-controlled manufacturing.
