Korpack is a food-grade (SQF) co-packer for leading consumer brands, providing contract packaging, packaging materials and automation in the western Chicago suburbs. We're doubling into 350,000 sq ft across two facilities, Bloomingdale and St. Charles, and investing in the people and systems to run them. Two things define how we work. Efficiency: lines that run to standard, every shift. Accuracy: work orders, inventory and shipments that are right the first time in our ERP (Acumatica). Our customers see their product move work-order by work-order, and we've promised them no delay. If you want a place where your work shows up in the numbers, keep reading.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR WEEKENDS AND NIGHTS!
Position summary
The Production Control Supervisor owns the accuracy of every work-order transaction on their shift. The floor makes the product; Production Control makes it official in the system. This role leads the shift's Production Control Coordinators, makes sure materials are issued, output is received with the right count, lot, and label, and every work order is closed and reconciled before the shift ends.
It is a working supervisor seat on the production floor, a shift peer to the Production Manager, reporting to the Inventory Control Manager. It suits someone who stays calm under pressure, balances competing priorities, and doesn't lose the detail when the line is waiting.
Key responsibilities
Work-order accuracy on the shift
- Own work-order transaction accuracy in the ERP (Acumatica) for the shift: material issues, finished-goods receipts, scrap and returns, entered in real time with handheld scanners and floor tablets.
- Make sure every work order is closed properly and line inventory is reconciled after every work order. No work order left open at shift end without a reason and a handoff.
- Make sure scrap is recorded with a reason code and catch-weight items are converted to the standard every time.
- Make sure finished goods are counted and labeled correctly as they come off the line.
Standards
- Enforce the Inventory Control transaction standards on the shift, exactly as written.
- Investigate shortages, missing product, scanning errors, and inventory discrepancies quickly, and find the cause.
- Escalate variances and anything that breaks the standard to the Inventory Control Manager on the same shift.
- Hold inventory or stop a transaction that breaks the standard until it is fixed.
Lead the shift's Coordinators
- Lead, train and hold accountable the shift's Production Control Coordinators, including temporary staff.
- Assign coordinators to lines, set clear priorities at the start of the shift, and cover gaps so no line runs without its transactions being recorded.
- Run a clean shift handoff: open work orders, variances, shortages and issues passed on in writing.
Partner with production and the warehouse
- Work as shift peer to the Production Manager: a daily sync on work orders, materials and line feed.
- Work with Production Supervisors and Line Leads to anticipate material needs and support changeovers, so no line waits on materials or transactions.
- Flag material shortages and misses early to Material Handling and the Production Manager.
- Keep information flowing with Production, Material Handling, Shipping and Receiving, and Quality.
- Keep the shift's Production Control dashboard current and act on what it shows.
Quality and compliance
- Keep lot and date-code records and product traceability that support SQF certification, USDA requirements and customer audits.
- Follow and reinforce safety, food safety and quality requirements on the shift.
Improve the process
- Spot bottlenecks and recurring errors, and bring practical fixes to the Inventory Control Manager. Standards change through the Inventory Control Manager, not on the fly.
What success looks like
- Transactions on the shift are entered in real time, not at the end of the shift from memory.
- Every work order on the shift is closed and reconciled, or handed off with a reason.
- Scrap is always reason-coded and catch-weight is always converted the same way.
- Discrepancies are found and fixed the same shift.
- Coordinators on the shift follow the standards without being reminded.
- The Production Manager trusts the shift's numbers.
Qualifications
Required
- 1-3 years in production control, inventory control or materials in manufacturing, co-packing, food or 3PL.
- 1+ year leading a team or a shift.
- Hands-on ERP/WMS experience with work orders, lot tracking and handheld scanning.
- Comfortable with Excel and reading dashboards.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
If your inventory experience comes from warehousing, logistics or distribution, tell us about it: it can translate well. Demonstrated ability matters more than a specific degree.
Preferred
- Food facility experience with SQF, GMP or USDA requirements, including catch-weight items.
- Inventory reconciliation and product traceability.
