What You Will Do:

We have an opportunity for a MCL Production Control Team Member to be based in Columbus, GA. (onsite role) The MCL Production Control Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the MCL Machining Shop at Pratt and Whitney. This position is responsible for tracking materials through various stages of production, maintaining up-to-date records, and coordinating shipments for testing. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail, be highly organized, and have a strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Forklift experience is preferred for this position. This position will work closely with the quality department.

  • Shift: 1st Shift (weekdays)
  • Accumulate the ship list and other critical parts and combine into 1 file.
  • Track down these tests physically whether in a frame, in the queue, cross reference the Resample Log or determine if the item is still in the shop.
  • Notate this information in the Teams file so MCL can correctly account for and prioritize testing.
  • The tests will also need to be put into the correct testing locations and tracked throughout the process.
  • Locate Integrals: Identify and locate integrals within the production shop environment to ensure accurate inventory and tracking.
  • Track Specimens Through Shop: Monitor and update the status of specimens as they move through the production shop to ensure proper handling and timely processing.
  • Update Excel Trackers and Logs: Regularly update and maintain Excel trackers and logs to accurately record the status of materials, specimens, and shipments.
  • Locate Reburn, Retest, and Re-samples: Identify and track reburn, retest, and re-sample items to ensure they are properly processed.
  • Forklift Operation: Operate forklifts as needed to move materials and products within the facility. Forklift certification is preferred.
  • Maintain Revert Bin Boxes: Organize and maintain revert bin boxes to ensure that all materials are stored properly and in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Track and Maintain Cut-up Status: Monitor the status and disposition of cut-up materials, including new, in-process, and completed cut-ups, to ensure proper management and record-keeping.
  • Track Reburn, Retest, and Re-sample Status: Keep an up-to-date record of the status and disposition of reburn, retest, and re-samples.
  • Track Revert for Shipment: Manage the tracking of revert materials awaiting shipment to ensure they are sent out promptly and accurately.
  • Prepare Shipments for 3rd Party Testing: Organize and prepare shipments for third-party testing with Element, ensuring all necessary documentation and materials are included.
  • Log Shipments for 3rd Party Testing: Accurately log and track shipments sent for third-party testing to ensure compliance and traceability.
  • Use UGA System for Part Tracking: Utilize the UGA system for tracking parts throughout their lifecycle, ensuring all relevant data is recorded and accessible.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Forklift certification is required.
  • Work Experience with Excel and data management.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • 2 years’ experience in manufacturing or laboratory environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills (potentially be able to write macros). Proficient with creating Access databases.
