Job summary

Neaton Auto Products, Mfg, Inc. in Eaton, OH is seeking a Purchasing Assistant to place orders and track delivery of components and raw materials to maintain stock levels and support production requirements.

The role involves coordinating with suppliers, controlling freight costs, cycle counting, investigating inventory issues, and supporting continuous improvement and certifications such as J-SOX and ISO.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years prior Purchasing or related experience preferred
  • QAD experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Word) preferred
  • Knowledge of manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Order and maintain inventory of assigned parts or materials within company targets.
  • Control freight costs.
  • Cycle count assigned parts and materials - Quarterly and as-needed
  • Investigate inventory issues to determine root causes and support countermeasures.
  • Meet all department objectives as directed. Such as inventory turns, premium freight, overtime, etc.
  • Represent Purchasing in meetings as required.
  • Support new program introductions for assigned parts.
  • Monitor build-out programs to eliminate obsolescence.
  • Complete DSPS/JSP requirements per Honda procedure.
  • Investigate alternative usage for obsolete parts and materials.
  • Cross-train within the department.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities: (i.e. NISS, 6S, SQCD, etc.)
  • Support all NAPM certifications: (i.e. J-SOX, TS, ISO)
