Job summary

A leading copper supplier in Cedar Rapids seeks a Production Control Planner to develop and execute production-planning schedules. The successful candidate will have a two-year degree in Supply Chain or related field and should have experience in a manufacturing environment. As a Production Control Planner you will be responsible for developing and executing the production-planning schedules.

Primary Duties

• Determine plant production requirements based on sales & operations planning, open customer orders, and annual production goals.
• Attend/facilitate daily and weekly planning/scheduling meetings with the production team.
• Develop finite schedule to optimize plant operations balanced with the needs of the business.
• Monitor order releases, priority customer orders, and work center inventory levels daily to maintain on-time delivery.
• Work with other departments to ensure valid scheduling and compliance and to expedite orders when necessary.
• Supply and demand date reconciliation.
• Incorporate customer requests into production schedules.
• Ensure orders are started on time, and releases are within established WIP Inventory policies.
• Conduct cycle counting and support yearly inventory audits.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience Requirements

• Two-year degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business or related field or two years of experience in a production environment with basic inventory and manufacturing concepts. CPIM Certification desirable.
• Experience in manufacturing environment.
• SAP/IPT experience (OMP/APO/MRP/ERP) or similar planning system experience preferred.

• One 12 hour, rotating day shift position from 5 AM - 5 PM
