Job summary

Northern Engraving in West Salem, WI, is seeking a Production Control Manager to coordinate scheduling with sales, manage finished goods, and optimize the plant capacity plan. This role ensures on-time delivery to customers and provides directives to production schedulers.

You'll apply strong manufacturing knowledge, supervisory skills, and data-driven problem solving to deliver accurate schedules, maintain inventories, and drive efficiency across the plant.

Responsibilities

• Processes customer orders/releases and amendments to meet delivery dates.
• Manages finished goods and in-process inventory levels to meet internal goals.
• Ensures scheduling system is up to date with accurate data (rates, yield, capacity) for efficient and level plant loading and manning and purchasing data.
• Ensures capacity plan is maintained; at WS this is maintained by Industrial Engineer.
• Provides Manufacturing with schedules and accurate production documents/shop cards which minimize costs through effective utilization of labor, equipment, materials and capital.
• Manages customer and internal process changes.
• Manages Customer Balance Out when jobs or programs are obsolete.
• Provides reports to affected personnel as needed.
• Interfaces effectively with all levels of the organization and with external customers as needed.
• Ensures that Company policies and procedures are adhered to.

Job description

Purpose
The Production Control Manager acts as a liaison with sales to expedite, interpret customer demands and to provide Manufacturing with accurate schedules to ensure department efficiencies and on time delivery to customers. The Production Control Manager is also responsible for managing finished goods inventory to ensure that it meets internal goals and managing the plant capacity plan. This position also provides directives to the production schedulers.

Qualifications

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Processes customer orders/releases and amendments to meet delivery dates.
• Manages finished foods and in-process inventory levels to meet internal goals.
• Ensures scheduling system is up to date with accurate data (rates, yield, capacity) for efficient and level plant loading and manning and purchasing data.
• Ensures capacity plan is maintained (SG, Holmen and Sparta); at WS this is maintained by Industrial Engineer.
• Provides Manufacturing with schedules and accurate production documents/shop cards which minimize costs through effective utilization of labor, equipment, materials and capital.
• Manages customer and internal process changes.
• Manages Customer Balance Out when jobs or programs are obsolete.
• Provides reports to affected personnel as needed.
• Interfaces effectively with all levels of the organization and with external customers as needed.
