Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-volume or highly complex manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory capacity
  • Proficient with major ERP/MRP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Rootstock, Oracle) and Excel for data analysis
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certifications are highly desirable
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and cross-departmental communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on sales forecasts, material availability, and plant capacity
  • Coordinate the S&OP process monthly to validate demand against constraints
  • Direct daily and weekly production scheduling for efficient labor and machine use
  • Manage material and inventory to optimize levels and reduce costs
  • Oversee cycle counting, year-end inventory valuations, and material tracking
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Supply Chain to flag shortages and phase out legacy parts
  • Monitor production metrics (Schedule Attainment, OEE, OTIF) and drive improvements
  • Utilize ERP/MRP software to streamline documentation and data visibility
  • Apply Lean manufacturing to identify bottlenecks and reduce waste
  • Lead a cross-functional team including Shipping & Receiving; align with QC and Maintenance

We are seeking a highly analytical and structured Production Control Manager to lead our manufacturing scheduling, inventory, and material control functions. In this role, you will bridge the gap between sales demand and manufacturing execution. You will design master production schedules, oversee inventory workflows, and eliminate bottlenecks to guarantee on-time delivery while minimizing overhead costs.

A Production Control Manager oversees the day-to-day tactical planning, scheduling, and logistics of manufacturing operations. They ensure that materials flow efficiently through the production lifecycle to meet customer delivery dates, maximize labor productivity, and maintain optimal cost-efficiency. This specific role focuses heavily on master scheduling, material requirements planning (MRP/ERP), and inventory optimization.

Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Master Scheduling.
  • · Develop and execute the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on sales forecasts, material availability, and plant capacity.
  • · Coordinate the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process monthly to validate customer demand against supplier and line constraints.
  • · Direct daily and weekly production scheduling to ensure efficient labor allocation and machine utilization.
  • · Material & Inventory Management to maintain optimal inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods to minimize holding costs and obsolescence.
  • · Oversee inventory processes, including routine cycle counting, year-end physical inventory valuations, and material tracking.
  • · Partner with Procurement and Supply Chain to flag material shortages, track incoming supplier shipments, and manage phase-outs of legacy parts.
  • · Performance Tracking & Continuous Improvement to monitor and analyze production metrics (e.g., Schedule Attainment, OEE, On-Time-In-Full delivery) to implement data-driven improvements.
  • · Leverage ERP/MRP software (such as SAP) to streamline manufacturing documentation, material flows, and real-time operational visibility.
  • · Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to identify bottlenecks, eliminate floor waste, and optimize cycle times.
  • · Manage and mentor a cross-functional team of material planners, production schedulers, inventory clerks including Shipping & Receiving department.
  • · Collaborate with Quality Control and Maintenance departments to realign production schedules during machine downtimes or material quality holds.
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Business Administration.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-volume or highly complex manufacturing environment, with 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with major ERP/MRP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Rootstock, Oracle) and expert-level familiarity with Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
  • Certifications (Preferred): APICS certifications such as CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional)—is highly desirable.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, exceptional cross-departmental communication, and the capacity to handle high-pressure timeline shifts.
