Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Control costs to meet annual budget requirements.
  • Maintain and control plant finished goods, raw materials, and corrugated inventories.
  • Interact with Customer Service and Sales regarding incoming orders.
  • Oversee Shipping/Receiving, Production Control Administrative employees, Plant Scheduler.
  • Communicate with Operations Manager regarding equipment and materials to run product.
  • Ensure production schedule meets customer shipment needs.
  • Support Six Sigma projects as necessary.
  • Follow all Plant rules, Hygiene and Allergen procedures related to SQF.
  • Report unsafe conditions and SQF noncompliances to the appropriate authority.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions from SQF audits and customer complaints.

Job description

Location: Fort Smith, AR, US 72923. Department: Manufacturing & Operations. Travel: No Travel Required.

Position Purpose

To ensure production is scheduled efficiently and material, people and equipment are available to produce and deliver quality cartons on time. Manage inventory flow throughout the manufacturing operation.

Job Functions
  • Control costs to meet annual budget requirements
  • Maintain and control plant finished goods, raw materials, and corrugated inventories
  • Interacts with Customer Service and Sales regarding incoming orders
  • Oversees Shipping/Receiving, Production Control Administrative employees, Plant Scheduler
  • Communicate with Operations Manager regarding the necessary equipment and materials to run product
  • Ensure production schedule meets customer shipment needs
  • Maintain Corporate goals of Safety, COV, and Productivity (NLF / NSPSH)
  • Interaction with accounting to evaluate variances within the manufacturing process
  • Support Six Sigma projects as necessary
  • Directly involved in responsibilities /actions related to Prerequisite and Food Safety Programs
  • In the absence of Production Control Manager, daily responsibilities will be transferred to Plant Scheduler or Operations Manager
  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods
  • Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe floors or noncompliance to SQF related procedures
  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required
  • Reporting of any customer complaints to persons responsible to enter into GPI's Customer Complaint system for root cause analysis and appropriate corrective action taken
  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF.
  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation
Job Specifications
  • BA degree in Business Management or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience within folding carton industry or equivalent combination of education and experience
