Job description

#jobalert | DIRECT HIRE | PRODUCTION CONTROL EXPEDITOR | MANUFACTURING | Sycamore, IL area

A well-established industrial manufacturer is adding two Production Control Expeditors to its first-shift operations team. This is the person who keeps finished product moving off the line - tracking completed parts and skids, scanning work orders, and keeping production control informed the moment a part needs to be rerun or an overrun shows up. It is a steady, hands-on role in a fast-moving plant where accurate tracking directly drives on-time shipping. For someone who is organized, comfortable on a computer, and wants a foot in the door with a stable, growing manufacturer, this is a clear path onto a busy operations floor.

  • Anticipated $20-$24/hr, based on experience
  • Benefits include: Health, Dental, Vision, 401K w/ match, PTO, holidays
  • 1st shift, 6:00am-2:30pm
  • Two openings
Overview
  • Keep an accurate, real-time picture of what has come off the line by maintaining end-of-line schedules for completed parts and skids
  • Scan and reconcile work orders so every completed job is captured and nothing falls through
  • Flag overruns and parts that need to be rerun to production control quickly, in writing and verbally, so the schedule stays clean
  • Operate a computer terminal throughout the shift to log, track, and report production status
  • Support a safe, accident-free floor and keep product flowing to shipping on time
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proficiency with computers and MS Office, including email, spreadsheets, and data entry
  • Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment - production control, inventory, cycle counting, shipping/receiving, or materials handling
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting work orders, schedules, and operating instructions
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole, fractional, and decimal numbers accurately
  • Able to stand and move throughout the shift and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Comfortable working near moving equipment in a loud plant where ear protection is required
  • Strongly Preferred - 5+ years of production control, expediting, or cycle counter experience in a manufacturing plant
