Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Production Control Clerk III in California to coordinate and control work orders and manage material flow between Production and Flight Team.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience with MRP systems and inventory control. You will work with Purchasing, Quality, and Production Planners to resolve shortages, maintain the rework board, and support timely production releases.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years in a production environment or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of Bills of Materials structures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and control work orders released to Production.
  • Address shortages by coordinating with Purchasing, Quality, and Production Planners.
  • Maintain and prioritize the rework board and expedite shortage parts.
  • Assist leads to move urgent product between cells and stockroom.
  • Notify planners of rejected parts or builds and prevent long SMRB delays.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Worker TypeRegularJob DescriptionSummaryThe Production Control Clerk III performs clerical tasks in the production control function. One coordinates and controls work orders released to Production as well as goods moving back and forth between Production and Flight Team.Position ResponsibilitiesExecutes material repair orders when necessary to move product from SMRB to the repair work cellCoordinates and alleviates identified work order part shortages by working closely with Purchasing, Quality and Production PlannersUpdates and prioritizes the rework board in the production area, coordinating with production plannersProactively monitors and expedites identified shortage parts that are in ‘inspection' status, through quality, stockroom and onto work orders that are waiting for shortage partsWorks with the production leads to help move urgent product from one cell to another or through the stockroomIssues items in a timely manner to work orders that are being collected and processed in the sell-off areaNotifies planners in a timely manner of rejected, identified shortage parts or rejected production buildsWorks with Quality to ensure identified shortage parts do not sit in SMRB for an extraordinarily long periodMaintains a clean and safe work environmentWorks on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgement in resolving issues.
