Job summary

Northern Gold Foods is seeking Production Operators for our Junction City, Oregon location to help run our breakfast and granola lines. You will set up, operate, troubleshoot and sanitize production lines while ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

The role requires the ability to stand for long periods, lift 25–50 lbs, and work on 4x10 hour shifts. English fluency and basic math are essential; forklift experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Experience in food manufacturing or production preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to follow recipes and specs.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to receive and implement feedback from leadership.
  • English fluency in reading, writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate production lines under supervision.
  • Operate mixers, scales, labelers, ovens, cooling tunnels and packaging machinery.
  • Measure ingredients accurately according to recipes.
  • Ensure packaging materials meet customer specifications.
  • Sanitize production equipment, parts and surroundings.
  • Record quality checks and compliance documentation.
  • Report safety concerns to supervisor immediately.
  • Troubleshoot machinery as needed.
  • Collaborate with peers and leadership.
  • Follow GMP, safety and quality requirements.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.

SUMMARY:

Production Operators are responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and sanitizing our production lines.

SHIFT OPTIONS:

Weekday Nights: Mon-Thurs, 4x10 hr. shifts (5PM-3:30AM, 7PM-5:30AM, 9PM-7:30AM)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Directly work with the Production Lead/Supervisor to ensure that the bar and/or granola lines are running properly
  • Operate production line equipment including, but not limited to, industrial mixers, scales, printer labelers, ovens, cooling tunnels, high-speed packaging machinery and various other equipment related to food production
  • Accurately measure and prepare food ingredients by following written recipes
  • Ensure packaging materials are set up according to customer specifications
  • Perform sanitation of production equipment, parts, and the surrounding environment
  • Accurately record documentation to verify compliance with all required quality specifications and procedure checks for the assigned area
  • Report all safety concerns immediately to direct supervisor(s) upon discovery
  • Troubleshoot machinery as needed
  • Work collaboratively with peers and leadership
  • Follow all safety, quality and GMP requirements of the position
  • Other special projects as assigned
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be detailed oriented
  • The ability to work independently by utilizing all trained processes and procedures with minimal supervision
  • Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Able to receive, digest and implement constructive feedback provided by leadership
  • Experience in food manufacturing, or production, is preferred but no required
  • Forklift experience is an asset, but not a requirement
  • The ability to speak, read and write English fluently as it pertains to fulfilling the job requirements
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Standing and walking 10 to 12 hours
  • Must not have any food allergies or food intolerances.
  • Able to lift and carry 25 to 50 lbs.
  • Able to push/pull more than 1,000 lbs. using pallet jack
  • Able to continually bend, stoop, twist, and use of arms, wrists, and hands (including grasping and squeezing) throughout shift
  • Able to occasionally kneel, reach above the shoulder, work at heights, and climb stairs with ingredients weighing 25 to 50 lbs.
