In this role, you will operate and optimize production equipment, maintain product quality, minimize equipment downtime, and sustain budgeted waste levels daily. Essential Functions

  • Operate production equipment with the Sharps Department, while meeting quality, efficiency, waste, and safety goals.
  • Operate all packaging equipment, ensuring that product is accurately packed and labeled per specification.
  • Participates as team associate in activities required to ensure successful daily operations of the Sharps Department.
  • Operates all equipment at acceptable quality and quantity levels.
  • Performs quality checks as required by specifiications.
  • Maintains accurate production, downtime and quality check records.
  • Advises technical personnel of equipment malfunctions.
  • Utilizes Batch Numbers as assigned in SAP.
  • Stamps Batch Numbers on shelf cartons and case cartons with accurate product and batch information.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties throughout shift.
  • Observes all safety and environmental procedures and Quality Systems Requirements (QSR).

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to operate production equipment with precision and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic knowledge of safety and environmental procedures
  • Minimum two years' experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred

Desired Skills

  • Manufacturing experience
  • Quality Inspection experience

Work Environment

  • BD is a smoke-free campus. Smoking and the use of electronic smoking devices, marijuana, or tobacco products are not allowed on BD property, grounds or in the parking areas. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to this policy
  • False eyelashes, press-on fingernails, and Jewelry is not allowed on the production floor including dermals. Any associate wearing dermals will be required to cover them while working on the production floor.
  • Shoes are required to be Steel Toe and non-slip for all associates while on the production floor for safety purposes.
