POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Area Manager/Team Leader, responsible for the essential functions and job qualifications requirements such as proper training and safe, timely, and efficient operation of the general production equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the essential job functions and qualifications for roles including Roll Mill, Prog Operator, Press Operator, Arc Welding Machine Operator, Resistance Welding Operator, Automatic Welding Machine Operator, and CNC Benders.
- Keeps work area clean, neat, and organized, applying good housekeeping techniques.
- Produces quality parts meeting all customer requirements. Authorized to cease production if parts do not meet quality standards, with approval from the Area Manager/Team Leader and Q.C. Manager.
- Participates in process improvement teams working with parts.
- Follows operator instruction sheets unless instructed otherwise by the Area Manager.
- Adheres to all safety regulations and reports safety concerns.
- Reports all mishits to the Team Leader/Area Manager.
- Completes all paperwork accurately, including tags, setup checklists, production logs, flip charts, and reports.
- Ensures last piece samples are submitted before starting the next order.
- Uses the Plex system properly for production reporting and training requirements.
- Follows all quality procedures.
- Prepares containers by ensuring they are undamaged and clean of old tags, cardboard, and other parts.
- Verifies proper use of standard packs for work orders.
- Trains new associates as directed by the supervisor.
- Follows the "first-in, first-out" system for raw materials.
- Completes all requirements for the First Piece Inspection Process.
- MIG Welders operate robots, use machine lifts, and must be MIG Weld certified. They inspect repair parts to specifications.
- Bender operators run equipment, review part quality, and make adjustments to ensure quality based on dimensional aspects.
- Roll Mill may participate in die sets and part adjustments for quality.
- Prog Operators participate in die sets, machine setting, and troubleshooting to ensure part quality, including First Piece and Last Hit.
- Transfer Press Operators perform die sets, adjust machines, and troubleshoot to ensure quality standards.
- Shearline Operators participate in die sets, coil alignment, and troubleshooting to ensure strand quality, including First Piece.
- Performs other essential functions as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Experience in manufacturing helpful but not required.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, reach, bend, and visually inspect parts at production speed. Visual acuity is essential for quality inspection and reading gauges and documents.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work in a manufacturing/stamping plant with potential hazards from noise, moving equipment, fumes, dust, and exposure to oils and fluids.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, 35 pounds repetitively, and perform other physical tasks as specified for different roles.
