Job summary

Pilgrim’s is hiring for a Production Hourly role. The position emphasizes safety as a condition and requires teamwork, strict adherence to procedures, and the ability to work in cool temperatures.

You will operate and monitor equipment, perform manual tasks, and help maintain a clean, compliant work area. Responsibilities include following USDA and company standards, reporting issues promptly, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Ability to comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to apply common sense.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to stand and work in cool temperatures (around 40 degrees).
• Must be a team player and have good communication skills.
• Good hand and eye coordination.
• High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Processes product using tools (to include knives), manual labor, and equipment in accordance with USDA and Pilgrim’s standards.
• Process product according to operating procedures and quality/quantity expectations.
• Observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of malfunctions or safety concerns.
• Clean and organize work area.
• Assist others with skills and knowledge gained from the position.
• Observe all safety and food safety policies and work cooperatively with others.
• Recognize and act on safety risks; promote safe work habits.
• Participate in process improvement and problem solving using continuous improvement methodologies.
• Follow all animal welfare guidelines.
• Other duties as directed.
