Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. in Hopkinsville, KY is seeking a production/warehouse associate to support machine operation, basic maintenance, and shipping/receiving tasks.

You will ensure accurate handling and documentation of components, maintain a clean, safe work area, and participate in lean initiatives to improve efficiency. The role requires teamwork, adherence to safety protocols, and flexibility to work overtime to meet daily production goals.

Qualifications

  • Deliver components and materials with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Document locations and transactions correctly in system.

Responsibilities

  • Handle shipping/receiving duties and paperwork.
  • Move and stage materials to proper locations and record in the system.
  • Maintain clean, safe, organized work area and follow lean principles.
  • Overtime may be required to meet production goals.

Job Summary

Achieve daily departmental goals, safety practices, and production while working together as a team.

Essential Job Functions
  • Perform a wide range of functions in support of single purpose machine operation, basic facility / machine maintenance and shipping / receiving duties.
  • Operate all forms of PIV’s (if trained and certified) or hand truck as required.
  • Performs duties in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Responsible for quality of own work.
  • Prepare and ship components to vendors as needed to support production.
  • Receive items (product, and other deliveries) from vendors as they arrive.
  • Deliver received items to proper person or department as necessary.
  • Transfer product from shipping containers to totes as needed and place in product in rack locations and document locations and do necessary computer transaction to record location.
  • Deliver high volume components to the correct floor locations and do necessary computer transactions.
  • Deliver wire to machines as needed.
  • Move product from completed operation to next routed operation or proper inventory location and do computer transactions as required.
  • Initial and date product move on router.
  • Remove items (wire hats, drums, totes, etc.) from departments as required.
  • Deliver finished product form departments 2302, 2403, 2404, 2414, and 2413 to warehouse as required.
  • Setup package machine for correct box and box quantity, print correct labels for boxes, stack on pallets for delivery to warehouse and complete paperwork as necessary.
  • Keeps work area clean and orderly.
  • Must be able to work overtime if needed.
Safety: perform safe work practices
  • Communicate Behavior Based Safety
  • Wear proper PPE.
  • Identify, report and resolve safety risks/hazards.
  • Support and maintain 6-S 360 principles throughout.
Quality: perform and build quality at the source to ensure specifications are met
  • Identify and work collaboratively to resolve non-conformances.
  • Support and work collaboratively to initiate and follow through with corrective actions.
  • Diagnose and problem solve operational deficiencies.
  • Check completed work for hardness and visually inspect as required.
Lean Manufacturing Principles:
  • Participate with lean initiatives to make continuous improvements in the department (6S projects, 6S 360 and SMED events)
  • Communicate and follow work instructions.
  • Ensure FIFO at operational levels.
  • Team collaboration to ensure equipment uptime and efficiencies.
