Job summary

Lazy River Products, LLC is seeking a Production Associate to support the Packaging Department in producing finished goods from flower packaging. You will work with a team to ensure packaging KPIs are met under leadership and report to the Production Manager.

The role requires the ability to learn complex procedures, maintain quality control, and follow safety policies. The position is based in Dracut, MA with 40 hours per week and hourly pay, including a background check as part of the process.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Inventory or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Massachusetts cannabis industry experience preferred.
• Proficient with Windows OS and Office applications.
• Ability to reliably perform standard mathematical equations pertaining to quantity, weights, and measures.

Job description

The Production Associate (within the Packaging Dept.) is responsible for the production department's daily operations related to packaging bulk flower and pre-rolls to complete as finished goods. The Production Associate (PA) will work within a team to ensure product packaging KPI's are met under the direction of the production leadership and reports to the Production Manager.

Core Tasks and Responsibilities

1. Package accurately, by weight, all flower products offered by Lazy River Products (LRP)
2. Accurate use of scales and balances to ensure the weight of products meet regulatory and LRP SOP requirements.
3. Apply labels to product packaging accurately and neatly per LRP SOP
4. Actively engage in sanitation practices and ensure that tools, equipment, workstations, and work rooms maintain organization, and are regularly cleaned
5. Maintain department logs, forms, and records as instructed with clear and legible writing
6. Ability to learn complex tasks, processes, and develop professionally within the department's operational procedures
7. Perform quality control for products and product labels (information and proper application)
8. Maintain professionalism and productive relationships within the department and company regardless of opinions, challenges, or conflict. Ability to raise suggestions, concerns, or constructive feedback in a professional manner
9. Ability to follow and execute directives and/or directions provided by the department leadership or company leadership
10. Work in an efficient and productive manner, supporting colleagues, meeting or exceeding KPI's, and proactively addressing challenges as they arise
11. Wear LRP uniform and PPE, practice good hygiene, and follow all safe handling requirements while in production or handling products
12. Assist colleagues and leadership with department duties and tasks throughout the day
13. Assist with inventory audits for both products and consumables and communicate with leadership as supplies are utilized or running low requiring a re-order or re-stock
14. Perform duties and operate tools and equipment proficiently and safely. Employees must ensure safe execution or procedures and adherence to all safety policy, LRP SOP's, state, and federal safety regulations
15. The PA may be assigned additional duties, tasks, or asked to work within adjacent departments to assist with overall production needs

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required
• Inventory or manufacturing experience preferred
• Previous Massachusetts cannabis industry, production experience preferred
• Proficient with Windows OS, Office Suit applications (Office, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Ability to reliably perform standard mathematical equations pertaining to quantity, weights, and measures

Physical Requirement/Work Environment

• Manufacturing work environment with occupational exposure to loud machinery, bright lights, airborne particulate, or other production hazards. Must be able to wear ear, eye, and respiratory protection as a precaution to these possible risks.
• Production area is a limited access and clean environment, and must be able to properly wear provided uniform, or approved garments, closed toed shoes, hair net(s), disposable gloves, and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Production requires tactile fine motor skills with persistent use of fingers, hands, wrists, and arms to build and package materials throughout the duration of the scheduled shift.
• Mobility requirements may include traveling between rooms and departments, sitting, standing or otherwise positioned at a workstation, and accessing materials and supplies which may require squatting, lifting, or reaching high and low places.

Additional Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older and comply with all legal or company regulation requirements for working in the industry.
• Ability to pass a formal background check per Massachusetts regulatory requirement for agent registration.
• Ability to work 7:45 am - 4:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch weekdays, weekends, and holidays if necessary for a total of 40hrs/week.
• Reliable transportation.

Lazy River Products, LLC requires a background check on all prospective employees as a condition of employment. Candidates should be aware of this requirement but should also know that such background check is not initiated until:

• The candidate has signed the Background Check Authorization Form and related releases.
