JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective:The Production Associate - Level 1 is an entry-level position responsible for learning and performing basic roller shade assembly operations. The associate safely handles aluminum and plastic extrusions, fabric, injection molded components, springs, and related materials; follows standardized work instructions; and produces completed assemblies that meet quality and throughput requirements. Consistent attention to detail, safe work practices, and development of a strong assembly skill base are required for advancement to the next production associate level.

Essential Functions:

• Learn and demonstrate proficiency in the assigned roller shade assembly work area, including the safe handling and assembly of aluminum and plastic extrusions, fabric, injection molded components, springs, and related hardware.
• Follow standardized work instructions, production schedules, visual aids, and quality specifications for each assigned assembly operation.

• Use attention to detail to verify component selection, dimensions, fabric alignment, spring installation, fit, finish, and overall assembly accuracy.
• Inspect work in process and completed roller shades, identify defects or nonconforming materials, and promptly report quality concerns.
• Meet established quality and throughput rates while maintaining safe work practices and protecting materials from damage.
• Use assigned hand tools, fixtures, gauges, and production equipment safely and in accordance with training.
• Complete required production, quality, material, and traceability documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain an orderly work area and follow all safety, personal protective equipment, ergonomic, and material-handling requirements.

• The role may involve exposure to production noise, moving equipment, sharp extrusion edges, spring tension, and variations in temperature; required personal protective equipment must be worn.

Physical Demands:Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, grasping, and repetitive use of hands and arms are required. The employee must be able to handle long or awkward aluminum and plastic extrusions, manipulate fabric and small components, safely install or handle springs, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds as needed. Use of team lifting or material-handling equipment is required when appropriate.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

40 hours per week with potential for overtime.

Required Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.
