Job summary

Goodwill of Colorado is seeking an Associate I, Retail Production to process donated items into inventory and prepare them for sale. You will interact with customers while stocking the floor and ensure items are priced and tested per guidelines.

The role may cover multiple areas such as hardlines, softlines, housewares, electronics, or shoes depending on business needs. The position emphasizes excellent customer service, attention to quality, and teamwork in a dynamic retail setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Meets or exceeds minimum productivity standards and KPI expectations for assigned duties.
• Sort donated items by type (books, media, textiles, housewares, etc.).
• Hang, size and price, tag, and prepare items to be sold on the sales floor.
• Inspect and quick test items as needed to ensure they work (plug-in or battery).
• Price items according to Goodwill standards of quality and value (good, better, best).
• Ensure production and sales floor areas are well organized, stocked, merchandised, and clean.
• Provide excellent customer service to staff and customers; answer product questions.
• Rotate or pull old or unsold product to refresh selection.
• Possibly assist with processing E-Commerce product.
• Follow all retail center policies and procedures.
• Follow safety processes and maintain a clean working environment.
• Cross-train in other departments as needed.
• Duties may extend beyond listed tasks.

This position will work to process donated items into inventory to be sold in our stores and will interact with customers while stocking the sales floor. Excellent customer service skills are a must! This position works in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Associate I, Retail Production will primarily work in a production environment processing and sorting donated items following company quality standards and guidelines to determine which items will be placed on the sales floor to be sold. This process includes pricing and testing guidelines as required. The Associate is responsible for ensuring the sales floor area is well stocked with product in an organized and presentable fashion. The Associate may occasionally be in contact with customers and expected to be responsive in communication and provide excellent customer service. The Associate may be assigned to various areas that they have been trained in to include hardlines, softlines, housewares, electronics, mechanical goods, books, or shoes per the business needs. This position may occasionally work in donations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Meets or exceeds minimum productivity standards and expectations/Key Performance Indicator (KPI)s for assigned duties.
• Sort donated items by type (books, media, textiles, housewares, etc.) which include season, color, and quality of product.
• Hang, size and price, tag, and prepare items to be sold on the sales floor.
• Inspect and quick test items as needed that plug-in or run on batteries to ensure the product is in good workable condition.
• Make decisions to price according to Goodwill standards of quality and value of product (good, better, best), which may include researching the item’s value on the internet or utilizing other company tools and standards.
• Ensure production and sales floor areas are well organized, stocked, properly merchandised, and clean.
• Provide excellent customer service to fellow staff and customers; answer product questions as needed.
• Rotate or pull old or unsold product in a timely manner from the sales floor to ensure product selection is refreshed as necessary.
• May have additional responsibility of processing E-Commerce product (sort, hang, size, price, tag, etc.).
• Follow all retail center policies and procedures.
• Ensure work areas are clear and organized and adhere to continuous improvement standards.
• Follow all safety processes and procedures to help provide a safe working environment for employees and customers.
• Cross-train in other departments or areas; act as a back-up for other areas as required.
• Job duties may extend beyond the tasks listed and may include additional responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
