Job summary

Dal-Tile Distribution, Inc. is seeking a Production Associate III to operate a variety of equipment and support raw material processing in our tile production line in Dallas, TX. You will monitor conveyors, glaze lines, kilns, and packaging while adhering to safety and quality standards.

• 1 year experience operating equipment in a manufacturing environment required, 2 years preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of equipment to process raw materials for tile production.
• Set up and operate glaze line system to apply glaze to ceramic tile.
• Operate bisque and/or gloss/firing kilns to maintain steady product flow.
• Operate water jet or gantry saw for tile cutting.
• Move tile cars to stacking/unstacking equipment.
• Operate automatic sorting system and inspect tiles for defects.
• Produce glaze/paste to meet production schedules.
• Glue boxes of tile and palletize for shipping.
• Unload raw materials from rail cars and mill raw materials as needed.
• Start and operate spray dryer for proper moisture in powder.
• Follow ISO operating procedures and perform quality checks.
• Monitor equipment/processes and report problems to supervisor.
• Keep work area safe, clean, and organized.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Dal-Tile is currently seeking an exceptional Production Associate III to join our TEAM! As the Production Associate III, we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support such as operating a variety of equipment performs functions to process raw materials.

Primary Objective

Operates a variety of equipment and performs manual functions to process raw materials for the production of ceramic tile.

Major Function and Scope

May operate automated press system, including body material input, press equipment, and output conveyors.

May set up and operate glaze line system ensuring correct glaze is applied to ceramic tile.

May operate bisque and/or gloss/firing kilns to ensure steady flow of product through the kiln process.

May operate water jet or gantry saw in the cutting of ceramic tile.

May move tile cars from and to the tray stacking and unstacking equipment

May operate automatic sorting system, which rejects defective tile. Visually inspects and rejects defective tile.

May produce glaze/paste in sufficient quantities and in a timely manner to meet production schedules.

May glue boxes of tile and stack them on a pallet for shipping.

May ensure proper operation of unloading raw materials from rail cars, position rail cars, manually spread raw materials to ensure complete unloading and operate milling equipment to pulverize raw materials.

May start and operate spray dryer to ensure proper moisture in powder.

Follows ISO operating procedures and maintains quality checks as specified.

Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor.

Keeps area safe, clean, and organized.

Performs other related duties as required.

Experience and Knowledge Required

1 years experience operating equipment in a manufacturing environment required, 2 years preferred.

High School diploma or equivalent experience.

Competencies

Good oral and written communications skills. Good listening skills. Read and understand procedures in English.
