Job summary

Airgas in Parkesburg, PA is seeking a Production Associate (Cylinder Filler) to safely fill and prepare high-pressure and medical gas cylinders. You will perform rigorous safety checks, handle cylinders, and maintain compliance with DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude, and at least 1 year of related technical experience. Experience with SAP or ERP systems is preferred, along with basic Google Suite or MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and fill gas products into cylinder types (liquid, medical, high pressure) following SOPs and regulatory guidelines.
• Conduct safety checks (odor tests, caps and valves) and verify cylinder purity and mixes.
• Prepare high-pressure, medical and liquid cylinders for filling; attach to manifold and evacuate cylinders.
• Load/unload cylinders on pallets; operate forklift and pallet jack.
• Maintain accurate records to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards; complete quality control sheets.

Conducts a variety of Safety checks per procedures, such as odor tests, checking caps and valves. Analyzes products for purity and correct mixtures.* Takes care of high-pressure, medical and liquid cylinders. Prepares high pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling. Attaches to manifold, evacuates cylinders to ensure excellent quality and purity. Fills cylinders by pressure and weight, per regulations and standards.* Assists with the loading & unloading of cylinders on & off pallets and tractor trailers. Experienced in using a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.* Maintains accurate records to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards. Completes quality control sheets as required.* Knowledgeable of hazards of various gases; size and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks.
