Ukrop's Homestyle Foods is seeking to hire multiple full-time Production Associates (Manufacturing Specialists I) for our Bakery, located at 2020 Westmoreland Street, Richmond, VA 23230. The positions are available for various schedules on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, with occasional overtime and holiday shifts during peak seasons.

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Specialist I is an entry-level, full-time role performing basic duties such as cleaning, cutting, prepping, baking, assembling, packaging, and shipping finished products. Candidates must be flexible with their schedules, work well in teams, communicate effectively, and adhere to sanitation and food safety principles.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assemble, sort, and prepare raw, intermediate, or finished products for baking or retail packaging.
• Operate equipment for preparation, baking, or cleaning, and inspect products as needed.
• Report safety, quality, or food safety issues immediately.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Learn new procedures and support food safety standards such as GFSI, FSMA, HACCP, SSOPs, and GMPs.
• Support an accident-free workplace by identifying risks and collaborating with safety personnel.

Minimum Physical Requirements

• Read, understand, and follow instructions.
• Perform basic arithmetic (measuring, following recipes).
• Stand or walk for at least four hours.
• Repetitive bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to temperature variations from equipment.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 6-12 months of food service or manufacturing experience preferred.
