Job summary

PPG in Wallingford, CT is hiring a Production Associate to join our operations team. You will set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment to ensure quality products reach customers when needed.

This role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, a mechanical aptitude, and prior manufacturing or warehouse experience. Training on the 1st shift is available for a few months before moving to the 2nd shift (3:15 pm–11:15 pm).

Qualifications

• Mechanical inclination and ability to use hand tools.
• Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up production equipment and supplies before executing job orders.
• Operate equipment safely and effectively for production processing.
• Ensure equipment is maintained in good and safe condition.
• Inspect equipment for replacements, malfunctions, and repairs.
• Perform regular equipment maintenance to support production capacity and quality.
• Assist junior operators in assigned responsibilities.
• Repair and clean equipment as needed and evaluate performance.

Shift: 2nd Shift, 3:15pm-11:15pm, Monday- Friday, Shift differential $1.00. Train on 1st shift (7:00am - 3:30pm) for 3 months

As a Production Associate you will be a crucial part of our operations, ensuring that quality products are available to our customers when they need them. Your work will directly affect people's lives!

Primary Responsibilities

• Manufacturing Production Workers focus on setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing production (i.e., machining, processing, assembly, or packaging) equipment.
• Set up the production equipment and supplies before executing the job orders and operate equipment safely and effectively for production processing.
• Ensure that equipment is maintained in good and safe working conditions.
• Inspect equipment to identify any replacements, malfunctions, and repairs.
• Perform regular equipment maintenance to ensure production capacity and quality. Help junior operators in their assigned responsibilities.
• Repair and clean the equipment when needed. Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements.
• Operate trucks and other industrial vehicles to transfer the production equipment between warehouse and working area. Follow safety procedures and company policies for equipment operation.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift to 50 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the day.
• Mechanical inclination, ability to use hand tools
• Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is preferred.
