Major Duties and Responsibilities

You will focus on one of the following areas, with plans for cross-training in the future:

In the Coating Area, You May Work As:

• A Clipper, clipping and securing lenses into baskets to begin the coating process.
• A Machine Operator, preparing and operating coating machines, including loading chemicals and lenses.
• An Inspector, ensuring lenses are optically and cosmetically accurate.

In Finishing, You May Work As:

• A Beveler, removing sharp edges of lenses.
• A Mounter, inserting lenses into frames with proper fit and alignment.
• An Edger Operator, cutting lenses to size and shape.
• A Finish Layout Preparer, outlining markings and preparing lenses.
• A Tinter, tinting lenses.
• An Inspector, checking lenses and frames for quality.

In Surfacing, You May Work As:

• A Surfacing Blocker, securing lenses for surfacing.
• A Surface Finer/Polisher, finishing lenses.
• A Lens Washer, cleaning and inspecting lenses.

Basic Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• High mechanical aptitude.
• 1+ years of related manufacturing experience; lab experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to meet standards in a dynamic environment; good depth perception and manual dexterity.
• Strong communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Attention to detail.

Additional Information

• Position requires standing and walking throughout shifts.
• Work involves chemicals, wet/dusty environments, and strong smells.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
