The Mapleton Foundry is hiring Foundry Specialists! As a Foundry Specialist at Caterpillar Inc., you will perform manual and machine functions related to core making, such as dipping, inspecting, and assembling cores. You will also operate and lock out equipment to clean the molding floor and handle sand reclamation or disposal.

Job Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Core box mounting
• Mixing and testing core sand
• Bolt threading
• Preparing pouring basins for molding
• Molding processes such as spraying, drying, and venting
• Operating punch-out and related equipment
• Finishing tasks like riser breaking, hand chipping, and finning
• Operating shakeouts, stands, and portable grinders
• Operating powered industrial vehicles

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least one year of manufacturing work experience
• Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 35 pounds frequently
• Ability to stand for an 8 to 12-hour shift
• Experience operating heavy machinery and manufacturing equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a machine shop or foundry
• Computer skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Math proficiency
