Job summary

International Paper's Plant City Container Plant in Florida is seeking an entry-level Utility worker responsible for operating machinery, measuring and counting finished products, and maintaining quality standards on 8- to 12-hour shifts. The role requires safety adherence, teamwork, and basic shop math.

The job offers $22.23 per hour with shift differential where applicable, with overtime and weekend work as needed, and opportunities to learn customer specs from factory print cards and work

Qualifications

• 3–6 months hands-on industrial plant experience.
• Corrugated manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read tape measures and use basic shop math.

Responsibilities

• Safely run machines and follow safety rules.
• Count and stack finished product.
• Read work orders, print cards, and design specs to learn customer requirements.
• Read tape measures and gauges as part of quality checks.
• Coordinate with team to set up and run orders.
• Maintain quality and production standards.
• Monitor production quality and quantity throughout shifts.
• Maintain housekeeping during the shift.
• Perform quality inspections and tests and record findings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

The Job You Will Perform

• Safely run machines and follow all safety rules and practices at all times;
• Count and stack finished product;
• Learn customer requirements and specifications by reading factory work orders, print cards, and design specifications;
• Utilize basic shop math;
• Accurately read tape measures, gauges and other test equipment;
• Coordinate activities with other machine crew members to efficiently set up and run orders;
• Maintain quality and production standards as required by the company;
• Continually monitor the quality and quantity of production;
• Maintain housekeeping continually during the assigned shift;
• Perform quality inspections and tests, and record findings; and
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

The Skills You Will Bring
