GENERAL FUNCTION

We seek individuals with technical aptitude, attention to detail, and motivation to learn and grow professionally. If this describes you, consider aligning your career with Essilor.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You will focus on one of the following areas. We plan to cross-train in the future so you may work in any area:

Coating Area:
  • A Clipper, clipping and securing lenses into baskets to begin the coating process.
  • A Machine Operator, preparing and operating the coating machine to coat lenses properly, including loading machine chemicals and loading/unloading sectors with lenses.
  • An Inspector, inspecting lenses to ensure optical and cosmetic accuracy.
Finishing Area:
  • A Beveler, removing sharp edges from lenses using a bevel wheel.
  • A Mounter, inserting edged lenses for proper fit and alignment, and inserting lenses into frames.
  • An Edger Operator, using edging machines to cut lenses to size and shape.
  • A Finish Layout Preparer, outlining center/alignment markings and affixing the chuck/block.
  • A Tinter, tinting lenses accurately.
  • An Inspector, checking lenses and frames for quality standards.
Surfacing Area:
  • A Surfacing Blocker, securing a block to lenses and applying protective tape.
  • A Surface Finer/Polisher, operating equipment to finish and polish lenses.
  • A Lens Washer, hand washing and drying lenses, and inspecting for quality.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify for the Production Associate role, you should have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • High mechanical aptitude.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience, preferably in manufacturing or lab settings.
  • The ability to meet measurable standards in a dynamic environment, with good depth perception and manual dexterity.
  • Strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail.

You should also be willing and able to:

  • Stand and walk for the duration of shifts.
  • Work with chemicals in a possibly wet, dirty, or odorous environment.
  • Work overtime as needed.

Pay Range: $19.25 - $27.18

Compensation is determined by various factors, including location, experience, and qualifications. Benefits may include health care, retirement, paid time off, and employee discounts. Additional incentives like bonuses and commissions may also be offered.
