Major Duties and Responsibilities

You will focus on one of the following areas, with future cross-training opportunities:

Coating Area

• Clipper: Securing lenses into baskets for coating.
• Machine Operator: Preparing and operating coating machines, including loading chemicals and lenses.
• Inspector: Ensuring lenses meet optical and cosmetic standards.

Finishing Area

• Beveler: Removing sharp edges from lenses.
• Mounter: Inserting lenses into frames with proper fit and alignment.
• Edger Operator: Cutting lenses to size and shape.
• Finish Layout Preparer: Preparing lenses for edging.
• Tinter: Tinting lenses accurately.
• Inspector: Checking lens and frame quality.

Surfacing Area

• Surfacing Blocker: Securing lenses for surfacing.
• Surface Finer/Polisher: Finishing lenses.
• Lens Washer: Hand washing and inspecting lenses.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• 1+ years of manufacturing or lab experience preferred.
• Manual dexterity, depth perception, and ability to meet standards in a dynamic environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Additional Information

This role requires standing and walking for entire shifts, working with chemicals, and willingness to work overtime. Compensation ranges from $19.25 to $27.18 per hour, with potential bonuses and benefits such as health care, retirement, paid time off, and employee discounts.
